BMW terug in DTM vanaf 2012!

BMW heeft vandaag bevestigd dat het vanaf het seizoen 2012 terug zal keren in het DTM! (bron: autosport.com).

Bevestiging van deelname BMW en races in Amerika zijn geen verrassing.

Iemand enig idee welke de reglementen zijn voor DTM vanaf 2012?

De nieuwe regels zijn nog niet gepubliceerd, paar maanden geleden heeft Autosport onderstaande in hun blad geschreven:

A final decision on the layout of the entire car will be taken towards the end of November, once the manufacturers have been able to study the first prototypes of the carbon chassis. The target for the manufacturers to have test cars available to them by the end of the year.

Following meetings between key players from the DTM and Japanese motorsport authorities over the 2009-10 winter, it is understood that a Japanese manufacturer could still join the process in the near future.
It is expected that teams will be able to buy the spec chassis for less than €50,000. The overall cost for the whole car is likely to be reduced by 40 per cent from current regulations, even though teams will still be allowed technical freedom in several areas, including suspension development.

While aero levels will be reduced, speeds should remain similar as the new cars will feature wider tyres on larger (18 inch) diameter wheels.

Dus op meer standaard onderdelen en minder aerodynomische rotzooi na verwacht ik weinig verschil met de huidige wagens.

ALMS werkt ook in de States dus ik zie er wel wat in.

Het ALMS concept is destijds ontwikkeld, maar ieder geval betaald, door Don Panoz en zijn vrienden.

En nu gaan Mercedes, BMW en Audi die rekening betalen (zoals ze dat ook in het DTM doen) ;)

Misschien dat ze gewoon de naam Trans-Am moeten kopen en onder die naam moeten gaan racen.

Is er al meer info welke wagen ze gaan inzetten in de DTM, of er al ontwikkelingen zijn?

het wordt een M3. ze hopen eind volgend jaar alle wagens al eens te kunnen presenteren aan het publiek.

Het werp wellicht een nieuw (tegen)licht op de deelname van BMW aan het DTM ;)

Wat betreft verschillende merken lijkt het met DTM dus prima in orde te komen.

Opel kan ook wel wat promotie gebruiken.

Ik hoop ten zeerste dat de geruchten door opel worden bevestigd.
Het zou mooi zijn om opel eindelijk terug aan het werk te zien.
