Welk type Carbon decals voor Williams uit '92?
 

Goedemorgen iedereen,

zondag dan eindelijk de fw14b ophalen en ik denk dat ik er meteen mee ga beginnen. Heeft iemand van jullie een advies voor het gebruik van carbon decals voor deze wagen? Met dat soort decals ben ik nog niet zo heel bekend dus ik vroeg mij af wat er op de markt is 1/12 voor dit tijdperk. De keuze is namelijk enorm: SMS, HD, S27 en ga zo maar door. Dan natuurlijk eens goed kijken wat er allemaal wel en niet "ge-carboniseerd" moet worden :bye:

Persoonlijk zou ik SMS gebruiken. Gewoon eens een mailtje sturen naar SMS en vragen welk type voor deze build kan gebruiken. Normaal gezien zullen ze dan een pakket voor je samenstellen, met wat zij denken dat je zal nodig hebben. Zeer eens het proberen waard. Hier is het mail adres:

Decals van SMS kan je trouwens ook gewoon bij Domino krijgen, scheelt toch weer verzending vanuit Amerika ;)

Gemaild. Kijken wat ze roepen. Domino heeft de meest waarschijnlijke decals niet op voorraad ben ik bang. Hopelijk zijn er nog andere stands zondag.

Thanks for your question regarding the use of carbon fiber materials in the 1992 Williams FW14B.

Prior to 1990 the use of carbon fiber materials was basically experimental. The Honda McLaren
and Ferrari teams first started using CF technology successfully in the late 80’s. By the time the 90’s
came around the technology was no longer experimental and the Williams team applied CF materials
extensively in the FW14B with great success.

Still, compared to how CF technology is used today, the Williams FW14B car was limited to basically
two weave patterns:

1.Carbon Fiber Twill Weave
You should use our CF Twill Weave Patterns on the chassis, body and cockpit components (the use of different
scales throughout your build will more carefully replicate the real car, larger scale such as the 1012 (1/12th scale)
on the chassis with 1020 (1/20th scale) on body and cockpit components along with even 1024 (1/24th scale)
in the cockpit.

2. Carbon Kevlar Basket Weave
Kevlar weaves provide puncture protection so any components used to protect the drivers body, such as the seat shell
and gas tanks require puncture protection so use our 1312, 1320 and 1324 on those details.
