Loeb gaat zijn eerste GP F1 rijden in 2009 !!

Bourdais is gewipt bij Toro Rosso en dat stoeltje gaat dit jaar door nog minimaal 2 andere coureurs gebruikt worden. Alguersuari zal de eerste zijn en in Abu Dhabi zal Loeb zijn debuut maken in de F1. E.e.a. staat te lezen in de gedrukte Autosport van 16-7. Indien Loeb eerder zijn zoveelste WRC titel te pakken heeft kan zijn debuut vervroegd worden.

Volgens het bericht heeft Loeb al de nodige kilometers gemaakt in een F3000 wagen. Als alles doorgaat zoals beschreven staat dan heeft Red Bull weer een pr-klapper van jewelste te pakken.

Op basis waarvan krijgen rijders tegenwoordig een F1 superlicentie?
Vroeger moest ge toch op zijn minst een raceafstand op 2 dagen gereden hebben?
De enige F1-kilometers die Alguersuari achter de kiezen heeft, zijn 2 aërodynamische tests vorige week. Wat rechte lijnen rijden, kan toch niet volstaan voor een superlicentie?
Nu niet dat ik het hem niet gun hoor, integendeel, ik wens hem heel veel succes toe.
't Doet gewoon raar dat hij toch al zoveel jonger is als mezelf :D

En 't lijkt te kloppen dat Loeb in Abu Dhabi gaat rijden. Alguersuari zei vandaag nog dat hij de Europese circuits al wel kent, maar nog niet die in Japan, Brazilië en Singapore. Over Abu Dhabi zwijgt hij in alle talen ...

Nu hebben ze bij STR wel een héél jong team! Verdorie 19 en 20 jaar!
Zolang dat gebrek aan ervaring hen nu maar geen parten gaat spelen.

edit: blijkbaar heeft hij vorig jaar wel al voor Red Bull getest, maar ook dat waren enkel rechte-lijn-testen.
En een F1 demo in Algarve, dat kan toch ook moeilijk volstaan.

e) be the current champion of one of the following:
Formula 3 Euro Series
The principal national F3 championships of: Great Britain, Italy,
Japan, Spain

N.B.: the title of Champion is considered valid for 12 months from the last
race of the relevant series or championship season.

f) be judged by the FIA to have consistently demonstrated
outstanding ability in single-seater formula cars, but with no
opportunity to qualify under any of c) to e) above. In this case the
F1 team concerned must show that the applicant has driven at
least 300 km in a current Formula One car consistently at racing
speeds, over a maximum period of 2 days, completed not more
than 90 days prior to the application and certified by the ASN of
the country in which the test took place.

By exception, if supported by the Safety Commission, the FIA
World Motor Sport Council may approve the issue of the Super
Licence to persons judged by the Council to have met the intent
of the qualification process.

natuurlijk, die "exception" kan betekenen dat Jefke Pierlala ook een superlicentie kan krijgen, als hij op een goed blaadje staat bij Mosley...

Brendan Hartley, heeft trouwens ook een superlicentie (klik)

Dat word je vanzelf gewoon hoor, het enige wat je moet doen is blijven ademen ;)

Da's goed voor Loeb, maar meer dan een zoveelste promo-stunt van RB zie ik er niet achter. Als je team al enkele jaren in de vitrine staat, moet je wel iets doen om de aandacht te trekken.
