Saturday night at the Sumter Speedway the crowd the lead cars wrecked almost immediately fter the green flag, and that's when the real action began.

In car number 41 driver Robbie Disher backed out of the pack and apparently began ramming other racers. He targeted the cars of Adam and Randy Hill, two brothers.

Spectators said the Hill brothers had been involved in an ongoing feud with Disher. Sumter County Sheriff's Deputies closed in on Disher's crumpled car and placed him under arrest.

Disher was taken to jail, and is now facing criminal charges including malicious injury to property and assault and battery with intent to kill.

Track spokesman Kent Compton says what Disher did was dangerous, "We do not approve or condone what he did. He has been suspended from the speedway for the remainder of the year and could be removed from the track permanently."

Sumter County Sheriff Tommy Mims refused comment on camera, and Disher's attorney did not return our call. Robbie Disher is free on bond. He said his attorney has advised him not to comment on the case.

hmmm, lijkt wel op een computerspel.

Vorig jaar tijdens de Clio Cup-race, tijdens de 24 uren van Zolder, zaten er piloten (welke weet ik niet meer) van het team pyc-performance te bespreken hoe ze een of andere piloot van de baan zouden gooien (en dit juist voor de race, toen de onboard-camera van de wagen aanstond !!).
Natuurlijk is dit niet zo erg als wat er hierboven staat, maar dan vraag ik me toch af of zoiets in onze nationale promotie-cups (of andere) zou kunnen gebeuren.
Stel je voor, een of andere piloot rijdt agressief, geeft meerdere tikjes of duuwt een andere wagen van de baan, waarvan de piloot dit niet kan uitstaan; en na de race ramt hij hem...
Ja, dit is natuurlijk onvoorstelbaar, maar wie weet tot waar een piloot kan gaan om wraak te nemen?

Maar ja, zo ver zijn we, gelukkig genoeg, nog niet !!!
