echnical Specifications:
The standard Corvette chassis has been highly modified by Xero Competition. This has been done using modern Computer Aided Design techniques along with established engineering practices.
The Xero Competition Corvette uses huge ventilated brake disks, with 6 piston ALCON callipers along with the finest Mintex brake pad materials.
The bodywork and aerodynamics are all done by Xero Competition. The basic Corvette shape has been used but has been subtly modified to suit British GT racing demands.
The 6 speed Hewland sequential gearbox has been specially developed for Xero with the help of the Hewland engineering design department.
The fully adjustable suspension has been subtly developed by Xero Competition with great effect during the 2003 season. Further developments are taking place for 2004.
Engine: · 6L V8 · all aluminium · running through restrictors · producing approx. 460bhp
The 2004 engines will only retain the standard engine block; the remainder of the engine will have serious modifications to help release above 460bhp. This is despite running the required air restrictors. Xero Competition will continue their on-going development with the C5 through 2004 and beyond.
New for 2004 Xero, in collaboration with B & J Engineering and the electronics company EFI, will use a new bespoke engine management system from EFI.
