Blijkbaar maakte Thiry deel uit van "weather crew". Dus bandenkeuze gokken

Thiry: it's time to change
25 Aug, 07:58

European Rally Champion Bruno Thiry has joined the calls for a fresh look at tyre rules for tarmac rounds of the World Rally Championship as a result of the Deutschland Rally.

Thiry was working for Citroen as a weather crew on Baumholder and concluded that the current regulations were not suited to rallying in Germany.

“It’s interesting to work on the other side of the fence, but I think it’s time to change the tyre rules. If you choose tyres three hours in advance in a country like Germany or Belgium and you look at the accidents of Solberg and Panizzi, they need to do something,” Thiry said.

The Belgian will be back in action this weekend on the Barum Rally in the Czech Republic. He was heartened by his C2’s performance in Madeira, but felt that further development may be needed for bumpier Czech tarmac.
