78 Entries Filed for Le Mans 24 Hours

The official list of the 50 cars selected for Le Mans Test Day on June 5 and the race on June 18-19 will then be published at the end of March. Eight reserves (two more than in 2004) will also be designated by May 27.

Last year the prototypes dominated the entries (40 LMP1s and P2s vs. 37 GTS and GT entries), but this year the Gts have pulled ahead: There are 37 prototypes (19 LMP1s and 18 LMP2s) and 41 Grand Touring cars (15 GT1s and 26 GT2s) make up the ’05 field.
