Helaas geen 6-serie in racetrim in 2005, 2006 of 2007.........maar wellicht wel in 2008 In de autosport van 21-04-05 geeft Mario Theissen toe dat men een aantal concept-studies heeft gedaan om te bekijken of racen met een M6 model mogelijk is. Uitslag? Positief! Vanwege de nieuwe F1-motoren en de niewe WTCC 3-serie is de capaciteit bij BMW Motorsport tot en met 2006 volledig bezet. Dus ontwikkelen in 2007 en knallen in 2008. Een grote maar, de regels op het gebied van GT-racen dienen meer universeel te worden.........dus FIA en ACO moeten weer vriendjes worden
