Citroen have persuaded Sainz to come out of retirement to replace Duval for the event after the Frenchman crashed for the third time in six starts at last weekend's Rally Cyprus.
However, in an interview in this week' Autosport magazine, Sainz said: "Francois is a very good driver and I am still confident he can make it.
