WRC Rally Finland

Het zou kunnen dat Martin eindelijk de Peugeot 307 kan aanpassen aan zijn rijstijl. De in-house ontwikkelde ophanging wordt vervangen door Ohlin materiaal.

Martin gets suspension boost

Peugeot's Markko Martin could benefit from new suspension on his 307 on this weekend's Neste Rally Finland. The Estonian used Ohlins suspension components when he competed in a works-backed car on home soil on the EOS Peugeot Rally recently, and said the change in parts gave him added confidence.

Martin and Gronholm have complained on several occasions that they can't be competitive in the 307, which replaced the multi-title-winning 206 at the start of last year. A lack of response and adjustability with the suspension has been one of the key areas of criticism, particularly from Martin, but Peugeot has so far been reluctant to ditch its in-house system. Martin has apparently been given dispensation to use the Ohlins suspension used on the EOS rally this weekend, however.

"It's possible to go fast with this car," Märtin said after the Estonian event. "If I could drive the same set-up in Jyväskylä (Rally Finland's host town), everything would be fine. We have tested the new set-up for three hours and it was a positive step. We will see in Finland how much use it was."
Ik ben benieuwd.
