De eerste pogingen enkele weken terug zijn mislukt. Het eerste probleem waar ze mee te maken kregen was het zicht van de piloot. Omdat de ondergrond toch niet zo vlak was als gedacht zag Van der Merwe niks meer door de vibraties. Gevolgd door een periode slecht weer is het project tijdelijk afgeblazen.
Volgende week gaan ze een nieuw test uitvoeren op Mojave Airport in Californië. Niet om het record te breken maar om bepaalde zaken te testen. Mocht dat allemaal lukken dan gaan ze het volgend jaar opnieuw proberen
