Wil Renault geen Franse coureurs?
In de afgelopen jaren hebben we heel wat succesvolle en talentvolle Franse junior piloten voorbij zien komen. Niet eentje kwam er in de F1 terecht. Voor het eerst in 40 jaar was er geen Fransoos te bekennen op de startgrid voor een GP.
Raar, want met Renault hebben we toch een fabrikant van Frans formaat. Ze sturen zelfs de hun testrijder Frank Montagny de laan uit. Fransen staan nu eenmaal bekend om hun zelfstandige economie. Om nog maar niet te spreken van hun chauvinisme (het woord is zelfs Frans  )
Tja dan lees je dit van Sebastian Bourdais:

"I don't expect anything from Renault. They have done enough bad-mouthing about me," he said.
"And (Renault F1 president) Patrick Faure's provocative comments on French drivers show they are looking for a reason to justify their policy not to recruit a French driver," he added.
"I don't know the real reasons and, in the end, I don't really care. I just want them to leave me in peace. They should stop having fun demolishing all the French drivers.

Heftige uitspraken van Bourdais. Kan er iemand een reden bedenken waarom er geen Fransman achter het stuur van een F1 Renault mag zitten? Een Fransman die goede resultaten behaald met een F1 Renault lijkt wel zo handig om elk jaar het autosportbudget door de raad van bestuur goedgekeurd te krijgen
