As everybody can imagine the situation in Dubai has changed dramatically because His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid al-Maktoum has passed away last Wednesday.
Government institutions will be closed for 7 days starting on Wednesday, and the private sector will be closed until Sunday. From Sunday onwards shopping malls etc will be open again. The Dubai Shopping Festival has been cancelled until further notice. It is not allowed to play any music in UAE until the 14th of January. For 40 days there is a period of mourning.
All national events are cancelled, the international not as far as we have learned.

Benieuwd of de race uberhaupt doorgaat. De A1GP in Indonesië op 14/15 januari is geannuleerd vanwege het overlijden van één Sjeik. Die race verplaatsen ze daarom 4 weken op de kalender.
