AutoWeek sources confirm what we first reported in July: Honda will enter the American Le Mans Series’ LMP2 class, most likely in 2007. Though ALMS officials refused to name the latest manufacturer to sign up for the prototype division, an announcement will come Wednesday, April 12 at the New York auto show. Ik heb gemengde gevoelens bij dit nieuws. Van de ene kant is het natuurlijk prachtig als een fabrikant als Honda (en Porsche) actief wordt met een LMP2, echter van de andere kant ben ik van mening dat LMP2 een klasse is die toebehoord aan privateers. Overigens lijkt het enkel om een motor te gaan en geen volledig chassis:
