07/04/2006 FIA GT completes TV deals with series of terrestrial agreements

SRO, promoter of the international FIA GT and FIA GT3 Championships, announced today further TV deals with terrestrial broadcasters in key markets to complete its best ever Television coverage.

On Channel 4 in the UK, a half-hour round-up of every race of the Championship will be shown on Saturday mornings after each event. Belgium's largest public service broadcaster, Kanaal 2, will include FIA GT highlights as part of their Motorsport magazine, "Pitstop", broadcast each Saturday at 1500 CET.

In the Czech republic, home of the Brno race, CZECH TV will broadcast the half hour show in prime time. FIA GT3 highlights, already distributed on MOTORS TV, NUVOLARI in Italy and BRAVO and PLAYER in the UK will now also be shown on Dutch terrestrial television via SBS6 at 1200 CET on the Sunday before each race.

SRO have also concluded a highlights agreement with France's premier sports channel Sport +, to add to the live coverage already secured on Motorsport channel AB MOTEURS.

The FIA GT Championship will now be seen LIVE in eight countries with highlights broadcast in over 30 European countries as well as in Asia, South America, the Middle East and the United States. The series will also feature prominently a number of motorsport magazine programs such as the new Martini World Circuit, and in the Motorsport Mundial, Motorsport Asia and Max Power magazines currently reaching over 500 million homes worldwide.

Stephane Ratel, Chairman of SRO, Promoter of the FIA GT Championship, explained : "Our new TV strategy has confirmed our confidence that there would be a high level of interest by broadcasters world-wide in the FIA GT Championship. They have endorsed our view that the world's best supercars and an exciting calendar of endurance racing is a winning combination."
