Verrassende gastrijder bij Paasraces in Toyota Yaris Cup
Toyota Formule 1-coureur Allan McNish neemt aanstaande maandag tijdens de Paasraces als gastrijder deel aan de race om de Toyota Yaris Cup op Circuit Park Zandvoort. Hij wordt morgen, meteen na de Braziliaanse Grand Prix, naar Nederland overgevlogen. Uiteraard moet hij achteraan starten, omdat hij zaterdag niet aan de tijdtraining heeft deelgenomen. Klassecoördinator Geert Vermeer van de Toyota Yaris Cup maakte dit nieuws zaterdag tijdens de rijdersbriefing bekend aan de deelnemers. Zoals bekend is Toyota dit jaar voor het eerst met een eigen team actief in de Formule 1. McNish verraste afgelopen vrijdag in Brazilië met de derde tijd in de vrije training. “We hopen uiteraard dat hij maandag hier op Zandvoort ook goed voor de dag zal komen”, verklaart Geert Vermeer.
