En dit is wat Martin Short er zelf van dacht.
Quote:
”The Belcar Championship is a bit of an undiscovered secret – or it was for us until last weekend. On Sunday evening, the Clerk of the Course shook my hand for about five minutes, as he thanked me for bringing the car over to their meeting. He was emphatic that it is the most beautiful car they’ve ever had racing there, and would we please come back with it next year.
”He described racing from his perspective as ‘we provide the tent, you are the entertainers – and the public come along expecting to be entertained’.
”I was very impressed with the whole set-up in Belcar. The format works, they’re very friendly, it’s well organised, the cars all have proper log books – and there’s plenty of track time.
”Two one hour sessions on the Friday cost us just £80, then we had 55 minutes of free practice on Saturday, two 30 minute qualifying sessions, the 15 minute warm up and a 125 minute race.
”The organisers also provided us with enough tickets to take a big group of supporters and sponsors, and they lay on a hospitality tent for your top five guests, where there’s free beer and food provided.
”After the race, they switched on a big sound system and the party went on until heaven knows when: we couldn’t stay late, unfortunately, as we had to get back and start preparing for Australia – but we had a very good weekend. And it’s very cost effective racing, unless you’re hammering away with one of those Vipers right at the top of the tree.
