Ik heb vernomen dat net als verleden jaar voor de Spa-Euro-Race ook dit jaar weer op de bekende adressen weer vrijkaarten liggen. Ik denk dat je op de site van RAC-Spa meer hierover vindt.

European consolidation is in the air?

Spa is located at a European crossroads?

Promotion Formulas lack visibility despite the quality of the show they produce?

“Well, let’s organize a meeting with the best of these formulas, at Spa…” was what P. Delettre & his team decided back in 1990. 13 years later the Spa Euro Here is a landmark on Spa’s annual calendar.

The receipt is easy: each country set up its championships to promote local talents. Equal equipment for everybody more often than not, ambitious drivers, reasonable stakes: all is in for a big show. But F1’s shadow is weighty for these formulas… exception Spa, where they are, for one week-end, the stars.

Other originality, the access-pass delivering system: they are given to companies which then distribute them. Smart way to secure a massive audience.

Modernity, proximity, overture, here are the values we aim to share with you through the Spa Euro Race.

The « Promotion Formulas” label covers a wide range of categories, from “almost Mr John’s car” (same look, yet prepared for racing) to small F1 (like the Renault Formula cars).

Thus we had 8 different categories last year, same for double-headers.

No time then for the audience to get bored.

1990 : first year of S.E.R. : Rubens Barrichello takes the third step of the podium !

80 years long history
Unveiled in 1921, the track back then was no less than… 14 kms long. It kept changing until it became too dangerous for the F1 drivers, in the 70s. A new drawing was done and at the beginning of the 80s it all began again. The likes of Senna, Schumacher & Prost had got their favourite “amusement” site.

Spa & youth

The hopeful champions competing the Spa Euro Race have all this history in mind when arriving in Spa. Fortunately enough, there’s no better place to reveal a talent. The one winning here has a bright future ahead…
