Daniel Carlsson will not start the Ypres 24 Hours, following a freak accident yesterday.

It is understood that he was getting some tarmac practice karting, and had stopped to make repairs to the kart. As he was working on the machine a piece of metal flew into his eye.

He was rushed to hospital where an operation was carried out to replace the lens of one eye. It is hoped that he will be fit to start Finland.
