Those Bentley Rear Wings
We haven’t seen this one answered before: why did the two Bentleys at Le Mans run different rear wings?
Team manager John Wickham provides the answer.
“It came down to the engineers’ personal preference. Jo Hausner was the engineer on #7 and Paul Thomas on #8. The difference between the two designs was so marginal - a little more downforce with one, a little less drag with the other - that the engineers went with the one they preferred. The drivers couldn’t tell the difference.”
