Seat in Belcar?

On Sunday at Barcelona, the SEAT Cupra R GT made some show laps for the public. Jordi Gené drove the car on the Circuit de Catalunya – says Sergio Fonseca.

Next season, SEAT Sport will enter the car in the Spanish GT championship, and it’s looking to Belcar and to FIA-GT (in the future).

Meanwhile, 'Scuderia Cavallino' was presented to the press for the first time – also at Barcelona. This is a brand new Spanish team based at the Circuit de Catalunya and owned by Spanish businessman Antonio Cano.

Antonio Cano will buy two Ferrari 575 GTCs from N-Technology, and he plans to compete in the whole FIA-GT season, and maybe Le Mans 24 hours (if he secures an appropriate sponsor).

Team Cano will work together with EV Racing (a team which was in the provisional entry list for the 2002 FIA-GT), which will provide the technical support.

'Scuderia Cavallino' will have 15 professional fulltime employees. Marcel Costa (Spanish F3 champion) is the only confirmed driver but Iñaki Goiburu could join him in the team.

Team Cano ran in this year’s Spanish GT Championship with a Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge car.
