Laten we hopen

Spyker Squadron in 2005 with open GT and in 2006 with LMP-GTP?
Thursday, 29 January 2004
Although Spyker confirmed that they will not attend this year’s edition of Le Mans, in fact they will completely skip the upcoming race season, we still received very good news.
Hans van Rennes, Team Manager Spyker Squadron, says: "it is indeed thru that Spyker will not attend this years edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans due to the fact that we did not produce the ACO minimum of 25 cars of the Spyker C8 Double 12S. We already knew but we still had some hope. That is just the way it is. Because of that Spyker will skip the 2004 season and come back in 2005 with a complete new project based on the Spyker C8 Spyder R. This is an Audi V8 based race version of the Spyker Spyder and thus the first convertible GT.”
“Besides the new project we are also studying to race in the LMP1 class in 2006-2008 with a closed LMP, just like the Bentley. At the moment we are in serious negotiations.”
“That’s it for now – you will however see a privateer Spyker in some races like the French GT and the 24 hours of Spa Francorchamps and more.”
