New Hyundai to test soon

Motor Sport Developments is planning to start testing of Hyundai’s Accent WRC3 this week in readiness for the Tour of Corsica.

The team has been heartened by the WRC2’s much improved performance so far this season, but is predicting another significant leap forward when the WRC3 appears, thanks chiefly to a revised engine and cooling system. A final decision over the car’s first rally depends on testing, however.

“All the bits have been tested separately, but not in the same car and until then we’ve got to be a bit careful,” MSD chief David Whitehead stated.

Hyundai has also recruited one of Prodrive’s most experienced engineers, Graham Moore. He will start work with the team this week.
