25/26 Nov. GT promotie race in Bahreïn
Zoals bekend zal de het schema voor de FIA GT in 2005 een mondiale uitstraling hebben met races in Dubai, Bahrein en China. Ter promotie van de races in het midden oosten zal er op 24/25/26-11 een race evenement plaats vinden in Bahrein.

Ratel en consorten willen een full grid hebben, de mogelijkheid bestaat dat er 70 wagens kunnen deelnemen. Die aantallen haal je niet met het huidige FIA GT veld, vandaar dat men ook gaat vissen bij de LMES en enkele nationale GT series.

Budget zal wel geen probleem zijn, gezien de huidige olieprijzen zal de lokale Sjeik de beurs wel trekken. Dus wellicht zien we een Belcar team op vakantie gaan richting Bahrein, op rekening van de Sjeik

Enkele maanden terug heb ik gelezen dat het ook de bedoeling is om een FFord race te houden in die regio, ook ergens in november. Of het nu ging om Dubai of Bahrein weet ik even niet meer.................maar de Engelse teams stonden te dringen mee te mogen doen. Zullen de voorwaarden wel OK zijn

De organisatie neemt zo te zien alle transportkosten al op zich. Inschrijvingsgeld zal er vermoedelijk ook niet zijn zeker? Moet wel de moeite zijn. Misschien meer een thread voor het Belcar-subforum nu?

Had het berichtje gelezen op racinglife.be ............maar idd, teams als PSI, SRT of GLPK hoeven niet onder te doen voor de FIA GT klanten. De vraag is natuurlijk hoe "open" deze race is qua reglementen.

Vermoedelijk heeft de organisatie hier omtrent toch al contact opgenomen met de Belcar organisatie. Probleem is natuurlijk wel dat je dit niet verkocht krijgt aan een sponsor. Het geld zal dus uit eigen zak moeten komen en dit zal niet zo evident zijn na een Belcarseizoen. Daarenboven komen dan nog de FIA reglementen (HANS, tank van 100l,...) die de teams en piloten nog op extra kosten jagen. Doch even informeren kan nooit kwaad natuurlijk

Denk dat Jan Lammers hier eens op de koffie moet gaan en de naam van zijn team veranderen in Racing for Sjeik Ali Baba.

Even een ander vraagje. Heeft er misschien iemand wat foto's over het nieuwe circuit in Dubai dus niet dat van Bahrain maar dus t circuit waar FIA GT in october te gast is.

De inschrijving van 2 Gillet Vertigos is onderweg sedert vorige week. Nu is het wachten op de bevestiging.

De 1ste is voor Ugeux/Kuppens en de 2de zal opnieuw de Gordon worden (ter compensatie van 24u spa) als alles doorgaat.

Dit zal nog het enige optreden op circuit worden. De belcar races in Spa van binnen 2 weken en Belcar Masters worden geschrapt.

Als alles dan goed gaat vertrekken de 2 vertigo's op 20 okt met de boot naar Bahrain.

De "Belgische" Stealth zal ook van de partij zijn in Bahrein. Het race-format is ook bekend. Drie qualifying races van 35 minuten met als finale eentje van 60 minuten. In de finale moet men van piloot wisselen........of dat ook van toepassing is in de qualifying races is me niet helemaal duidelijk.
