The first 24h race of the Middle East!, 11-12-13 Januari

On January 11-12-13th history will see the first 24h race in the middle-east. On a brand new circuit of the Dubai Autodrome the race will start on Thursday 12th at 14.00h. Besides the mainly European teams we will have some competitors from the Arabian Peninsula as well.

The Dubai Autodrome is a state of the art circuit and is equipped to host a F1 race.

Dubai itself is a fascinating emirate; Dubai is the place to be for shopping, swimming diving, water sports, safari’s dancing, going out and culture. Even skiing in worlds biggest indoor ski track is possible! The hotel standards are excellent. There are several top restaurants in Dubai as well.
Dubai is a very modern world city and in many occasions you will even forget that you are in the middle-east! Going out can be a pleasant experience. Many bars have European bands or disk jockeys enjoying the crowd with their music.
The weekend starts in Dubai on Thursday afternoon. During the 24h weekend it is also the start of the Dubai Shopping festival. Many people come from all over the world to shop duty free in Dubai city.
The weather in January is excellent for racing, swimming and going out! Average temperature is around 20C to 25C

Ook nog Limburgers... Ooit gehoord van deze organisatie?

Ik zie dat het reglement van de 24h vd Ring gevolgd wordt. Kan dus een mooite mix van auto's opleveren.

Nope, zegt me helemaal niks. Weet alleen dat die Gerrie Willems vaker meedoet aan 24-uurs races in Seats e.d. Is geloof ik altijd de drijvende kracht achter de Nederlandse deelnemers aan de 24 uur van Barcelona.

Max 400 PK? Dan ligt de limiet bij een Porsche Cup GT3. Het volgen van de Nurburgring-reglementen klinkt mooi in de oren.

Volgens mij gaat het om een soort 24 Uurs Zomer Avond Competitie. De folder wekt althans die indruk: http://www.24hdubai.com/doc/24dubai2006folder.pdf

Volgens autosport.nl zouden er nu al 30 inschrijvingen zijn..............

Officieel helpt DNRT alleen maar mee en is de organisatie in handen van Creventic (opgezet door Gerrie Willems en Ivo Breukers).

Maar wat zien we dan:
Martin vd Pavert (DNRT) - Clerck of the Course
Aat Tiekstra (DNRT) - Scrutineering
Leo Schaap (DNRT) - Scrutineering

Kortom...een leuk DNRT uitstapje

The maximum number of participating cars is limited to 75.

Idd een DNRT-tripje alhoewel het aantal ZAC deelnemers niet verder komt dan 8 van de 50 "ingeschreven" teams.

Nadeel van de gekozen datum is misschien dat veel teams/coureurs hun budget nog niet rond hebben. Anderzijds is er op dat moment niet veel concurrentie (behalve dan voor Nederlandse deelnemers het WEK).

Autosport.nl meldt het volgende:

DSC: Dutch Supercar Challenge naar de 24 uur van Dubai

De organisator van de Dutch Super Car, Dick van Elk, heeft naar verschillende teams gebeld die meerijden in de DSC en 15teams zijn echter al geintereseert. En er zullen er nog volgen als we de woorden van Dick van Elk mogen geloven zullen er nog teams volgen.

We kunnen bijna zeggen dat het een Nederlandse 24Uren race is in het MiddenOosten

leuk toch, zou leuk zijn als de vipers gaan en de marcos met cor euser lijkt me ook wel geinig.

De wagens mogen maximaal 400 PK hebben volgens het summiere reglement wat nu bekend is. Lijkt me dat de Vipers en Marcossen daar (flink) overheen gaan. Misschien toch wel............maar dan gaan ze de boel flink knijpen. Toch leuk om te zien dat die race nu al zoveel positieve reacties oproept.............lijkt me ideaal voor enkele BTCS klanten.

zoveel snel zijn die vipers nou ook weer niet. ze zijn niet zo snel als de oreca vipers
