Film over Enzo Ferrari
Quote:
Film director, Michael Mann, is to make a film about the life of Ferrari’s founding father.
Famous for producing the hit TV show, Miami Vice in the 80’s – in which the star Don Johnson drives around in a white Ferrari Testarossa - and for his direction of such blockbusters as ‘Last of the Mohecans’, ‘Heat’ and ‘Manhunter’, Mann’s latest venture is to be based on Brock Yate’s book, ‘Enzo Ferrari, The Man, The Cars, The Race, The Machine’.
No details are available as to who will star, but it is rumoured to be centred on the early days of the Scuderia. David Rayfiel, who scripted the Tom Cruise movie, ‘The Firm’, is said to be writing a first draft screenplay.
Motor racing aficionado, Mann, turned down a movie on the life of Howard Hughes starring Leonardo DiCaprio to direct. His most recent film based on the life of Mohammed Ali is currently on release.
