't Is wel tof om naar te kijken, maar na een tijdje lijkt het wat eentonig (de eerste twee; heb daarna naar het pak erachter gekeken).

Wie won er uiteindelijk, de gele of de rode (rode precies) ?

Hornish haalt het met 24/10.000ste van Al Unser Jr. Hij komt daarmee aan de leiding van de IRL met 12 punten voorsprong op Catsroneves en met nog 1 race te gaan. De andere kandidaat voor de titel, Gil De Ferran ( sorry race ), is in het begin van deze wedstrijd zwaar in de muur gegaan en men heeft hem naar het ziekenhuis gebracht.
Daar werd een hersenschudding vastgesteld en autosport.com bevestigde gisteren dat hij zondag niet zal starten in Texas.
Het is dus één Penske ipv twee tegen één Panther!

Come on Helio, whip his ass!!!!

Net gelezen op autosport.com :

Max Papis neemt de plaats in van Gil De Ferran zondag tijdens de laatste wedstrijd van de IRL. Hij is uiteraard aangeworven om Castroneves te helpen de titel binnen te halen.

Ik heb het gelezen

Het zijn die duizendsten van seconden op de voorbije twee wedstrijden die Hornish de titel opleveren.
Hij heeft hem dubbel en dik verdiend. Hij was zowat de enigste die de Penskerijders iets in de weg kon leggen...en dat heeft ie dan ook met verve gedaan.

De leegloop blijft maar duren. Ik denk dat ze bij CART met moeite 15 wagens aan de start gaan hebben volgend jaar.
Toch een spijtige zaak, want ik vind de auto's toch veel mooier.
Wie had dat enkele jaren geleden gedacht toen de IRL opgestart werd. Het waren toen echt tweederangsrijders, die niet goed genoeg waren voor CART, die daarin terecht kwamen.
Ik denk dat Tony George's beslissing twee jaar geleden om CART teams te laten deelnemen aan de Indy 500 dit heel proces in gang heeft gezet. Dat noemt men dus een strategische zet

Allee ja, de spanning in de IRL zal er volgend jaar alleen nog maar op vooruit gaan. Ik ben benieuwd of ze NASCAR naar de kroon kunnen steken qua populariteit...ze zijn alleszins goed bezig.

Niet vergeten dat IRl zijn volle tribunes voor een deel te danken heeft aan NASCAR he Bij veel race zit er nascar craftsman trucks in het voorprogramma
