Five races into the Championship and the points tables in the two classes couldn’t be more different.



Amazingly – or perhaps not – the top 13 drivers in the GT Drivers Championship are all Ferrari or Lister drivers. All the way from Biagi and Bobbi with their five out of five and 50 points, to Marco Zadra in 12th in the Creation Lister, they’re all Storm or 550 drivers.



As Mike Hezemans stomped back to the paddock after retiring at the Melbourne Hairpin, you could read his frustration: the top Viper drivers are Henrik Roos and Magnus Wallinder on 11, while Kumpen and Hezemans have still yet to score a point.



In the GT Teams Championship, GNM are into double figures, but the top four teams are again Ferrari and Lister entrants.



Spa offers double points, so if Biagi and Bobbi have another perfect score, that could effectively be that.

Victory for Ortelli and Lieb at Donington Park has turned N-GT into a Drivers and Teams battle that should go all the way. Marc Lieb has been absolutely clear in his own mind that the first three races saw all sorts of bad luck strike the lead Freisinger car: it's now two out of the last two for the top Porsche runners, and with Spa to come, does that make these two the title favourites? They're the only pairing to have won two races this season. Tim Sugden may have only scored half the points of the Mullen / Davies pair at the top of the Drivers table, but a good result at Spa....or are we underestimating the development and reliability testing of the TMC Ferraris? Jamie Davies and Tim Mullen have scored in every round so far.



Freisinger leads the teams race now, five ahead of Maranello Concessionaires, with JMB the only realistic challengers. Freisinger lead because they're the only two car team in which the 'lead car' is being reliably supported by the 'number two' car. RWS Yukos had their best event of the season at Donington, with both cars scoring, while Eurotech has inched ahead of EMKA - for now.
