Autosport.com bevestigt dat MG volgend jaar 4 wagens wil inzetten in DTM.

We kunnen beginnen raden/gokken naar de piloten: Dumbreck in elk geval zou ik zeggen, misschien ook Scheider.

Als ze onder de naam MG gaat racen, zullen ze waarschijnlijk de MG ZT 260 V8 gebruiken (ongeveer dezelfde wagen als de Rover 75 V8).



Ze zouden wel eens beroep kunnen doen op de piloten die in BTCC voor MG rijden, zoals Anthony Reid.

En Dumbreck maakt denk ik een grote kans. Hij is Brit en heeft tevens veel ervaring in DTM.

Volgens de gedrukte versie van Autosport 16-12-04:

MG Rover ZT 260 met een Zytek V8 als krachtbron. Deze krachtbron kennen is ook terug te vinden in de Panoz LMP-07. Het chassis is volledig ontworpen door Zytek. Inzet zou plaatsvinden door middel van Duitste teams..........

De enige naam die enigzins logisch is op dit moment is Anthony Reid. Die kerel schijnt overigens supertijden te hebben neergezet tijdens de afgelopen Donderdagtraining. Belcarista's eat your heart out

Volgens mij moeten constructeurs minimaal 3 of 4 wagens inzetten.


Zytek gaat het overigens nog druk krijgen. Naast het DTM project heeft de A1 GP organisatie een order voor 58 3,4L V8 motoren geplaatst.

Vanina erbij in 2005? Volgens www.autosport.be zou Ickx een test krijgen bij HWA. VTM en RTBF die de DTM live gaan uitzenden........... ach, er is ook nog af en toe goed nieuws te noteren.

Dat bericht meldt inderdaad dat VTM en RTBF het "kampioenschap" live zouden uitzenden. Als we even realistisch zijn, denk ik dat we eerder moeten denken in de richting van een live-uitzending voor enkel de race in Francorchamps. Misschien dat Peter Baert hieromtrent duidelijkheid kan scheppen.
Ook wat de DTM-deelname van Vanina Ickx betreft, denk ik dat het de bedoeling is om Vanina enkel in Francorchamps van start te laten gaan.
Vorig jaar werd in DTM-kringen al met de idee gespeeld om bij de buitenlandse races plaatselijke guest-drivers een zitje te bezorgen.
