Welke motor gaat Williams in 2006 gebruiken?
Het gesteggel tussen Williams en BMW neemt maar toe na de bekendmaking dat BMW het Zwitserse Sauber heeft overgenomen. Het contract tussen BMW en Williams loopt nog enkele jaren maar er zijn signalen dat BMW zo vlug mogelijk van Sir Frank vaarwel wil zeggen. Uiteraard voorzien van een riante schadevergoeding.

Williams-Toyota
Williams-Toyota maar dan met de merknaam Lexus
Williams-Honda
Williams-Cosworth
Williams-Cosworth maar dan met een badge van Hyundai erop
Williams-BMW
Williams-tja wat kunnen we nog meer bedenken?

Alle 6 de opties zijn de afgelopen weken gepasseerd in de boekjes en op de diverse sites. Wat denkt u?

Ik denk dat het de Cosworth gaat worden, al hoop ik eerder op de Honda krachtbron.

ik dacht dat toyota al niet meer mogelijk was?

*edit* zonet het kortnieuws ivm FA op pitstop.tv gelezen: Williams gaat in Jerez de V8 van BMW testen. ik denk dus dat de kans groot is dat het volgend jaar nog Williams-BMW zal zijn, want een motor testen voor een ander team? zie ik nog niet meteen gebeuren in de moderne F1

Het zal er vanaf hangen hoe graag ze Button hebben. Als ze echt Button willen, wordt het geen Honda en dus wss BMW of Ford (al heb ik ook wel hoop op Toyota).
Moeten ze Button niet meer hebben, "krijgen" ze wss wel de Honda.

Ford? Die zijn toch juist gestopt en hebben Cosworth verkocht?

Minardi heeft toch ook nog Cosworth motoren?
Dus de nieuwe eigenaars zullen er geen probleem van maken

Tis Cosworth geworden in 2006........................Button staat nu al te juichen, die hoeft dus niet naar Williams te gaan. Toen Button tekende mocht en kon hij er vanuit gaan dat Williams in 2006 voorzien zou zijn van BMW motoren. Door het gesteggel tussen Williams en BMW en de daarbijbehorende scheiding wordt Button nu geconfronteerd met een team dat niet meer de beschikking heeft over een "fabrieksdeal". Kijk, dan gelden weer andere wetten..........Button komt dus nu gemakkelijker (goedkoper?) onder zijn contract uit met Williams.

Volgens autosport.com zal Williams in 2007 inderdaad overschakelen op Toyota motoren. Er is een deal getekend voor 3 jaar. Wel enigszins logisch want Cosworth motor blijkt allesbehalve betrouwbaar (hoewel de seizoensstart voor Williams-Cosworth fenomenaal was).
