Wa wel een grote gerucht is op crash.net is dat A1Gp wel is dood zou kunne zijn.

Dan kun je lezen zoals je wilt maar een A1GP is nauwelijks sneller dan een F3. Dus de veligheid van Laguna Seca is dik in orde........

De echte reden?
Sinds december gonst het van de geruchten omtrent de slechte financiële situatie van deze klasse. Begin december verschenen de eerste berichten dat Lola, Judd en Avon een probleempje hadden met de betaalwijze van de A1GP organisatie. De race in Indonesië werd uitgesteld omdat er een Sjeik was overleden in Dubai. Dat kan, alleen raar dat diezelfde week de 24 uur van Dubai wel doorging. Elk team had twee wagens ter beschikking, vlak voor de wedstrijd in Zuid-Afrika wordt besloten dat elk team één wagen moet demonteren en het chassis moet terugsturen. De onderdelen dienen als reserve-onderdelen. Het vervoer naar Indonesie (vanuit Zuid-Afrka) loopt meer dan een week vertraging op omdat de lokale verzekeringsagent nog graag 6 miljoen Dollar/Euro (?) zou ontvangen van A1GP. Kijkcijfers vallen tegen, geen sponsors op de wagen, franchisenemers die afhaken en/of niet betalen..........nee, op dat financiële vlak loopt het niet lekker.

Edit: de race in Brazilië werd ook al geannuleerd vanwege "veilighedsredenen"

Dan is het annuleren van een wedstrijd natuurlijk voer voor geruchten..........

A1GP komt vrijwel zeker naar Zandvoort
Het is vrijwel zeker dat in oktober op het circuit van Zandvoort een A1GP-race wordt afgewerkt. Op een paar details na is het contract met de organisatie van de raceklasse rond. Dat meldt Het Parool.

Eerst zien dan geloven. Zandvoort heeft in het verleden veel geroepen en ook de toekomst van de A1GP is niet zeker als we de berichten mogen geloven.

's Morgens vroeg zie je dat er meer zand op de baan ligt dan ernaast? Hoe krijg je dat op tijd weg voor de kwalificatie? Waar haal je op zaterdag opeens 100 vrijwiligers vandaan?

Geen probleem bij die Amerikanen, een telefoontje naar de lokale gevangenis doet wonderen. Die mensen zitten daar toch De cork-screw en al die andere bochten die onder het zand lagen werden schoongemaakt door de gedetineerden.

Baan schoon, gedetineerden een dagje uit..........iedereen tevreden

Een opmerkelijk bericht: De A1 race director is ontslagen na de beoordelingsfout die hij gemaakt had tegenover Jos Verstappen.

Jos kreeg een drive-through penalty omdat hij ingehaald zou hebben onder geel. Bij nader onderzoek bleek dat het niet het geval was en toen heeft de Sheikh de man ontslagen.

De volgende die ze moeten ontslaan is Verstappen zelf. Wat een lulhannes zeg. Meneer krijgt dus onterecht een drive-through penalty, jammer. Maar waar mensen werken daar worden fouten gemaakt.

Verstappen is er een racer en wilt winnen. Niet voor niets deed hij in Durban een inhaal actie bij Frankrijk, dat slecht af liep. ('gegokt' en verloren in dat geval).

In Amerika eindelijk met veel potentie opgeklommen naar P6,7 (weet het even niet meer) en je krijgt te horen dat je een drive-through penalty krijgt: terwijl je zeker weet dat het onterecht is... Ik zou ook boos zijn! Daarna krijg je er nog een (wel een geldige reden)... tja, ik had denk ik hetzelfde gedaan. Ik kan zijn actie dus wel begrijpen; over de rooie.

Alleen dat die man gelijk ontslagen is, dat is wel wat radicaal.

Dit kan simpelweg niet. Uiteindelijk gaat ie zelf in de fout. Kwaad of niet, van een betaalde prof-coureur verwacht ik ook professioneel gedrag. Totaal geen respect voor zijn monteurs, engineers, sponsors en de liefehebbers langs de kant. Welke teambaas wil zo'n werkweigeraar nog in dienst nemen?

Vergelijkbaar gedrag moet je eens proberen bij je werkgever, enkeltje naar buiten zal zijn antwoord zijn

Eigenlijk wel ja, haha. Maar in het geval van Jos; het hele team staat achter hem. Dat weet ik zeker!
Maar goed, beetje zinloze discussie denk ik.

Ik kijk in ieder geval uit naar China!
