Bericht aan de amateurfotografen van DP:

We have scheduled a CATEGORY PHOTO CALL on Friday April 28th.
DPPI and our Communications Department, alongside each Category Manager, will be in charge
of organising this PHOTO CALL.
Drivers from each category are requested to attend the Driver’s Briefing wearing their official
2006 overall including the official championship logos.
WARNING: PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR HELMETS
Immediately after the driver’s briefing, your driver must proceed to the Finishing Line where our staff will be waiting for them.
Drivers will be emplaced in the Finishing Line upon the 2005 Teams Classification.
Media and PR’s are welcome to take also profit from this moment!
Please find below the different CATEGORY PHOTO CALL schedules:

11h30 (Approx) WORLD SERIES FORMULA RENAULT 3.5
12h30 (Approx) EUROCUP MEGANE TROPHY.
13h30 (Approx) EUROCUP FORMULA RENAULT 2.0

Er zouden in totaal 87.000 mensen naar Zolder zijn afgezakt (zaterdag 21.000, zondag 66.000 als ik me de getallen goed herinner). Dat is alvast wat de mensen van Renault na afloop vertelden.

Ik ben opzoek naar een kleine samenvatting van zaterdag en één van zondag in wmp, avi etc...

Kan iemand mij hierbij helpen?

In zoverre je Motors TV kan ontvangen, zij zenden herhalingen uit ( vanavond zelfs rond 18u )

Gisteren om 21:00 gekeken op motorsports weekend en niks gezien van de World Series
Vorig jaar had je nog stukjes van de world series in motorsports weekend en had je zelfs een WS magazine programma op Eurosport.

Dutchman Jaap Van Lagen has been signed by Comtec Racing to replace Edwin Jowsey in the British squad's second World Series by Renault seat.

Dit is gewoon de mop vd dag!

Volgens mij zal Jaappie z'n evenlang als Jowsey bij Comtec zijn Om dan in Turkey weer in z'n Mégane te stappen...
Of hij moet z'n stunt van vorig jaar nadoen (2e geworden in de straten van Monaco in de KTR-Dallara) en zo een hoop extra centen vinden.... maar dat betwijfel ik.


Ondertussen zijn ongetwijfeld alle WS teams klaar voor het vertrek naar Monaco, de Belgische vertegenwoordiging in de WS vertrek zondag al richting Zuid-Frankrijk.
Vanaf dinsdag moet alles al compleet zijn opgebouwd in de "paddock" in de groten van de tennisclub... Jawel de GP2 en WS zitten nog steeds in de donkere ondergronse parkings... (terwijl iedereen zondag om 14u TV kijkt en denkt dat het allemaal glamour en glitter is...)
Als je dan weet dat de WS maar 40min FP hebben, 2x 25min Q en dan de race van 45min. Dan is het wel logische dat er geen enkele mecano uitziet naar het weekend van Monaco....

Tot zover het leven back stage in Monaco (voor de support races).

We zullen het wel zien. Toch leuk dat Japie voor Belgische teams blijft rijden in de World Series!

Vandaag werd ook bekend dat Comtec het Britse F3 team heeft overgenomen Roly Vincini. De beste man is dit jaar actief als teammanager / hoofd-engineer bij Comtec, afdeling WSbR 3.5

In het Britse F3 zal Comtec op het einde van het jaar rijden met A1GP hero Basil Shaaban.

Ondertussen is de 1e en enige vrije training afgewerkt door de WS piloten in de straten van Monaco. De resultaten kan je via acm.mc hier vinden.

Vliegende Hollander Van Lagen verbaast met een 7e! tijd op een dikke seconde. Zeker niet slecht als je debuteerd bij een nieuw team in de straten van Monta Carlo!

Snelste was Maldonado voor Rossiter en Fleming, KTR presteerde zeer ondermaats met pas een 18e (Kerr) en 22e (McIntosh) tijd. (Belangrijk detail is dat bijden KTR piloten niks ervaring hebben in de straten van Monaco. Maar dan nog is het nog een zwak resultaat, want er staan er enkele voor hun die ook geen ervaring hebben op dit terein.)

Next step zijn de kwalis op zaterdag morgend tussen 9u en 10u (in 2 groepen! ) en dan zondag de race op een droom uurtje, nl tussen 11u en 12u net voor de F1 race! Terwijl de GP2 paddock dan al leeg is wat zij hebben hun race op zaterdag!
