Van Rossem was trager omdat hij op intermediums stond en de piste droog werd.Ook problemen met de schakelbak verklaarde het verschil in rondetijden.Deze problemen waren trouwens de reden van opgave!!

I want to share my experiences from this weekend with you now.
I feel very sorry that the race was so poorly attended by the germans, but imho the Eurospeedway was the worst track that could be chosen for this event.
I only attended the race because I've spend some time visiting Dresden and staying there in a hotel. So I combined holiday with the Belcar race.
For me Zolder and Spa is only half the distance the Eurospeedway is.
It's so far away and the series is so poorly covered by german motorsport magazines that it does not exist in Eastern Germany.
They should have chosen the Nurburgring or Hockenheim imho.

But never the less even half a Belcar field can produce a good race. The classic 5-R battle good as ever, GS Motorsport fighting with Penders/Lamot was ok and Stephanie Boden gave us a good time hunting down both First Motorsport cars, and her teammate.
Too bad the Thiers brothers were in her way when she braked for Turn 1 on the hunt for the class leading GS Motorsport 996 Cup.
Hats off for this performance

All the organisation was fine, the well known track announcer did his best to talk german as well and kept us up to date all the time.
Too bad the Eurospeedway found it more important to tell me when the next quartermile is instead of using the 2 screens for the positions

Very sorry was the Rhino's GT, but this has nothing to do with Belcar rather that with the series itself.

Also the BEC was not that entertaining. BSC was quite cool with Kevers winning even though he got a stop&go on saturday

I didn't watch those on sunday. I rather spend some time in the paddock then after Belcar Original.

I just hope Belcar does not draw it's attention away from Germany.
I think there are many fans in western Germany - like me with ~200km to Spa - but, well you know the distance from your home to the Eurospeedway.
From what I've heard around me the people liked the Belcar Original but with some common sense it's just too far for them. I also wouldn't drive ~800km for a Belcar Race. That is my distance to Le Mans

As it looks atm I will be at every race this season, I've only missed round 2.

May be Nurburgring next year?

PS: As there's no Photos thread here some of my snapshots

it's always so cold there. How is Hockenheim? Is it a good track for the spectators?

Well Hockenheim is not easy to travel from Belgium. There might be a shortcut through Luxemburg, but I'm not sure on that
What's good about Hockenheim is it's location right at the Motorway. You can compare that to the ESW. No local roads at all.

Hockenheim is ok for the spectators, with the stadium you can see big parts of the track - those where the action is with the Sachs hairpin - and the pits from your seat if you sit in the last corner before the line.
The downside of Hockenheim is the long walk into the paddock and the difficult access of the far side of the circuit for the fans. I'm quite sure the Mercedes grandstand will be locked as it is at the Ring when no Mercedes competes.
