Ik heb de laatste jaren de F3000/GP2 nooit van dichtbij gevolgt, maar dit jaar lijkt me het wel erg de moeite!
Het lijstje met échte talenten en toppers is zonder twijfel groot te noemen, hopelijk gaat dit leiden tot spectaculaire racen én een spannend seizoen. Lewis Hamilton, Tristan Gommendy, Michael Ammermueller, Alexandre Premat, Lucas Di Grassi, ... en ik vergeet er ongetwijfeld nog een aantal, zijn allemaal mannen die uit het goede hout zijn gesneden en kunnen afstellen als de beste...

De tijden van de GP2 wagens gaan in 2006 drastisch omlaag, door de invoering van slicks (old-style) gaan de rondetijden met +/- 3 sec. omlaag. Zou dus betekenen dat het nu wel de snelste klasse is na de F1.
Door het vervallen van de GP van Belgie is de laatste wedstrijd van dit kampioenschap reeds op 10 september. Hoog tijd voor een winterkampioenschap in Bahrain, Dubai en Qatar. Althans men is bezig met het plan. Ideaal om coureurs voor 2007 te testen, of is het een leuke bonus voor de teameigenaren op het einde van het jaar?  E.e.a. in de Autosport 02-03-06

De 16e en de 17e (gisteren en eergisteren dus), waren de teams weer actief.
Jose Maria Lopez verbrak het ronde record. Na twee dagen zag het lijstje er zo uit: 01 Jose Maria Lopez Super Nova Int. 1:12,547 02 Nelson Piquet Jr Piquet Sports 1:12,716 03 Lewis Hamilton ART Grand Prix 1:12,736 04 Franck Perera Dams 1:12,838 05 Andreas Zuber Trident Racing 1:12,851 06 Alex Prémat ART Grand Prix 1:12,887 07 Hiroki Yoshimoto BCN Competicion 1:12,888 08 Adrian Valles Campos Racing 1:12,988 09 Nicolas Lapierre Arden International 1:13,108 10 Lucas di Grassi Durango 1:13,120 Vijf rookies in de top 10, dat is wel leuk om te zien! Hamilton gaat erg lekker. De 28e en 29e van maart gaan ze weer testen, dan op Barcelona. Een week later reist men af naar Valencia voor een test en het eerste race weekend.
