The Doran Lista Racing #27 Judd Dallara captured the checkered flag to win the 40th anniversary of the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Didier Theys started the Dallara in the pole position 24 hours before Fredy Lienhard drove it into Daytona International Speedway's Victory Lane. Max Papis and Mauro Baldi also lent their driving talent to the Doran Lista team during the historic twice-around-the-clock race, which marks the fifth Rolex 24 win for team owner Kevin Doran. Rand Racing's #8 Nissan Lola won the SRPII class and finished third overall with Terry Borcheller, Bill Rand, Anthony Lazzaro and Ralf Kelleners piloting the Lola. Paul Gentilozzi's #3 Jaguar took the GTS class with Brian Simo, Scott Pruett and Michael Lauer sharing in the driving duties. The Racer's Group led the GT class to the checkered with drivers Kevin Buckler, Michael Schrom, Timo Bernhard and Jorg Bergmeister celebrating the win. Flis Motorsports finally captured its elusive American GT victory with Doug Goad, Craig Conway, Michael Ciasulli and Andy Pilgrim behind the wheel.

Anthony komt niet op de finishlijst voor omdat hij uiteindelijk...niet gereden heeft!
Hij werd geplaagd met een acute bronchitis en koos daarom om zijn ploegmaats eerst te laten rijden. Aangezien ze alledrie(!) de baan afgingen en de wagen serieus beschadigd was, om van de verloren tijd nog maar te zwijgen, heeft Anthony, die toch zich sowieso al niet te fit voelde, gekozen om dan maar niet te rijden. Een zeer begrijpelijke en verstandige keuze vind ik. En dus komt hij niet in de uitslag voor.
