De laatste jaren brengen de grote teams ook maar hun wagens uit begin februari, en begin maart is dan de eerste race. Das dus ook maar een maandje...

mja maar pre-season testing gaat een hele maand constant door (enkel pauze in het weekend)
Zo heb je dus snel 5 weken getest.


season-testing mag enkel in de week na de GP ....
dan blijven er nog slechts 2 weken over voor europa

Ik hoop dat de wagen even goed presteert als dat hij eruit ziet, want ze zullen het nodig hebben.

McLaren's new MP4-18A challenger hit major trouble for the first time in testing at Paul Ricard today (Thursday) when it stopped on an out lap.

Alexander Wurz was forced to stop on the right hander after Signes corner, although eye witnesses report that the car showed no outward signs of any problem. The new machine was stuck in the pits for some time yesterday (Wednesday) due to a faulty hydraulic sensor.

Due to the strong winds at Paul Ricard, the tarpaulin that was meant to cover the stricken car kept blowing away. Eventually, no less than eight McLaren personnel were dispatched to hold it down and make sure that photographers could not get a close-up shot of the machine as it was towed back to the pits.

Wurz completed a couple of installation laps throughout the day, but the exhausts appeared to be setting fire to the bodywork and required a squirt of fire extinguisher each time he returned to the pits. He eventually managed a five-lap run at the end of the day.

hupla .... den achterkant van den MP4-18 kan terug naar de tekentafel.
Ferrari heeft 3 maand nodig gehad om de plooien uit de F2003-GA te krijgen..... Toen was Coulthard constant aan het speculeren over de onbetrouwbaarheid van de Ferrari ....

Nu krijgen ze een koekje van eigen deeg blijkbaar

Dat is voor in de quali's , voor als ge in de grindbak rijdt dan is vleugel niet kapot. (besparen hé)

Misschien is dat de wagen voor Raikonen die in Stuttgart gaat rijden tegen Ralf S. gewoon op straat.
Op dat traject liggen er misschien verkeersdrempels
Dat die daar gaan rijden is voor de verjaardag van ADAC.

Heb zo toch een vaag vermoeden dat ze daar hun enige MP4-18 chassis niet voor gaan gebruiken

Hangt niet hoger dan normaal. Je moet er wel rekening mee houden dat sedert het seizoen 2001 de voorvleugel volgens het reglement een goeie 5cm hoger moet hangen in vergelijking met vroeger. Misschien valt dit nu wel extra op omdat die foto vanuit die hoek is genomen, maar het is al enkele jaren zo dat de vleugels hoger hangen dan vroeger.

mja ik denk ook dat hier vooral sprake is van optisch bedrog .....

Door de foto zo laag tegen de grond te nemen lijkt de Vleugel hoger te hangen ....
