Nieuwe Formule klasse tijdens de WTCC weekends: formula master
Er gaan al langer verhalen de ronde dat men bezig is met het opstarten van een nieuwe Formule klasse tijdens de WTCC weekends. Op dit moment zien we een vaag Italiaans F3000 kampioenschap aan het werk als veldvulling.

In de afgelopen weken reeds vaker kleine berichtjes gezien dat bepaalde bedrijven bezig zijn met deze klasse. Tatuus en Oreca die het chassis willen leveren. N-Technology die het "management" van de serie willen verzorgen. Mecachrome, FIAT en Honda die de motor willen leveren.

Paar weken terug een verhaaltje gelezen dat Max Mosley graag "groene autosport" wil zien.

Volgens Mosley is een "groene manier" van denken de kans om er nog enkele fabrikanten bij te krijgen. Gaan we verder op de huidige voet dan zuller er enkele fabrikanten verdwijnen.

Welke fabrikant heeft dit jaar met zijn "illegale " diesel Le Mans gewonnen? Juist, Audi! Als al die andere grote fabrikanten op de groene toer gaan dan kan een gigant als Audi niet achterblijven.

Enkele weken terug stond er een zeer uitgebreid artikel over de "groene toekomst" van de autosport in de welbekende Autosport. Normaal gesproken geen echte Mosley-fan maar op dit punt heeft dat oude politieke dier van een Max gelijk.
En wat lezen we deze week in de Autosport? De mogelijke geboorte van een "groene formule klasse" in het voorprogramma van de WTCC in 2007

Hybride voertuigen zijn de basis die net ff iets verder staan dan de huidige F3-wagens qua snelheid / rondetijd. Hybride? Een mix van benzine en het opslaan van remenergie om die vervolgens weer te gebruiken voor een "push to pass functie". Wil de F1 ook niet die kant uit?

WTCC-pief Marcel Lotti ziet het helemaal zitten. Volgens datzelfde bericht gaat de wagen een combinatie worden van Tatuus (chassis) en Mecachrome (motor + hybride technolgie). Reeds in oktober zou de eerste testwagen moeten rondrijden. Het gaat hier dan wel om een gemodificeerde F3 wagen.

Vanaf 2007 zou deze klasse dan "live" moeten gaan. Sneller dan F3, goedkoper dan F3 is de doelstelling.

Daarmee komt een einde aan de verhalen dat men S2000-motoren wil gebruiken voor deze klasse. Is al eens aan bod geweest op dit forum maar kan het ff niet vinden

En de motoren komen van Mader (onderdeel van Mecachrome). Basis zal een Honda-motor zijn. De motoren zullen overigens niet als Honda's door het leven gaan. Waarom Mader? Mader / Mecachrome zijn reeds in het bezit van hybride-technologie voor dergelijke motoren. Iets wat we in 2008 zullen terug zien in deze klasse die als Formula Super 2000 door het leven zal gaan.

Ze hebben alweer een nieuwe naam: International Formula Masters. Sipz gokt op 30 wagens in jaar 1. De klassse heeft een sterk verkoopargument in de vorm van live-tv. Dat gaan dan leuke uitzendingen worden op Eurosport.

E.e.a. uit de Autosport van 12-10

Klasse kon weleens een lastige concurrent worden van de World Series 3.5, Euro F3 en misschien Brits F3.

In Duitsland wordt ook een nieuwe single seater klasse gestart: Formel DMSB.

Dallara chassis zonder vleugels met 1600cc Ford motor...klinkt als Formule Ford.

Een soort opvolger van de ter ziele gegane Formel König waarschijnlijk, maar dan zonder vleugels.

Ik ben eigenlijk al een tijdje aant twijfelen om mijn FV te verkopen en een Formel König of een FF1800 zetec te kopen ... maar nu ik dit zie ...

Volgens een klein berichtje in de welbekende Autosport zouden reeds 12 wagens verkocht zijn. De TV-deal met Europsort zal wel helpen

Op http://www.racexpress.nl/index.php?nav=Artikel&nid=5606 staat het een en ander over deze serie. Reeds 23 wagens verkocht.

In het persbericht hadden ze het anders over 26 verkochte wagens. Ik citeer:
