Peugeot 908
De eerste informatie over de Peugeot 908, het diesel prototype waar Peugeot vanaf 2007 aan Le Mans mee zal deelnemen, is bekend:

De configuratie van de diesel motor is zo goed als identiek aan de Audi TDI: 12 cilinders, 5.5 liter, bi-turbo, partikelfilters, ... Enkel de cilinderhoek is anders: 100 graden i.p.v. 90. Dit lijkt mij een goede keuze want zo heb je een lager zwaartepunt.

De cijfers die Peugeot geeft zijn zeer toevallig net iets meer dan Audi
  • Peugeot V12 HDI: 700 pk en 1200 Nm
  • Audi V12 TDI: 650 pk en 1100 Nm

Renault heeft dit in de F1 ik nog willen toepassen, zo'n grotere cilinderhoek, maar na lange ontwikkelingen zijn ze toch terug overgeschakeld op de normale cilinderhoek.
Benieuwd of ze het bij Peugeot wel klaarkrijgen.

Verder geven ze nog maar weinig info vrij over de plannen met de wagen. Zelfs niet of het om een open of gesloten wagen gaat. Daarvoor zullen we moeten wachten tot september vrees ik.

Vibraties waren het grote probleem met de Renault V10. Dit zal een stuk minder erg zijn met de Peugeot HDI omdat die bij veel lagere toerentallen moet werken (5000 rpm t.o.v. 20000 rpm ) .

En meer cilinders geeft minder trillingen (dat sta toch in mijne cursus thermo van dees jaar )

Dit Peugeot project blijkt dus wel meer slaagkans te hebben.

Nou, of die als Peugeot 908 naar Le Mans gaat? Tik eens 908 in op Google, meer Porsche dan Peugeot Dus of Porsche hiermee akkoord gaat is nog maar de vraag......................

Pikant detail: Peugeot en Porsche hebben ooit eens wat heibel gehad over het nummer 901.............Porsche is toen maar verder gegaan met 911 Tijd voor Porsche om ff terug te pesten?

In feite zou Porsche dan nu een 908 moeten uitbrengen. Volgens mij kunnen ze bij Peugeot daar weinig tegen doen...

Porsche heeft reeds eind jaren '60 een 908 gehad.

Niet ten opzichte van een lijnmotor. Ik denk dat bijvoorbeeld een lijn 8-cil minder trillingen heeft dan een v12.
