Gaat McLaren verdwijnen?

Oorzaak dat McLaren (Dennis en Mansour Ojjeh) de resterende 60% wil verpatsen aan de Ster? Technology Center Paragon schijnt iets te duurder te zijn uitgevallen dan de beoogde € 500 miljoen. Wel opmerkelijk dat je dit leest op auto-motor-und-sport.de Op autosport.com, die hun artikel gebaseerd hebben op auto-motor-und-sport.de , lees je dat dan weer niet.

Duiters die iets vertellen over Engelsen? Ligt dus erg gevoelig bij de Engelse mafketels van autosport.com

Als ik dit zo leest begrijp ik ook waarom McLaren zo happig was op een McLaren B-team. Blijken die verhalen, in de afgelopen maanden/jaren, omtrent de precaire financiele situatie van een top F1-team toch te kloppen. Was dus McLaren, terwijl ik dacht dat het Williams was.

"Es wird gemunkelt..." is toch nog iets anders als "Est steht fest..."

Als McLaren "verdwijnt" zal de F1 nooit meer hetzelfde zijn. Is toch nog van een ander caliber als een Sauber of Stewart die verdwijnen. Enige troost is dat het dan door Mercedes zijn zal - moet ik tenminste mijn collectie schaalmodellen niet v/d hand doen. Stel u voor dat het een andere onderneming zou geweest zijn...

Dit stond vandaag ook te lezen in een artikeltje in Het Nieuwsblad: "Daimler Chrysler aast op McLaren".
Ik zou het héél jammer vinden dat een naam als McLaren uit de F1 zou verdwijnen. Een naam die al zolang meedraait, en al bepalend is geweest in zoveel successen zou niet zomaar mogen verdwijnen!

...Maar wel van hetzelfde kaliber als Lotus, Tyrrell, Brabham, BRM en Cooper (allemaal stuk voor stuk wereldkampioenen in hun tijd)... Om over Maserati en Alfa Romeo nog maar te zwijgen (is echt wel héél lang geleden).

Met dat verschil dat de engelse merken die je aanhaalt, toen op hun retour waren. Je kan McLaren moeilijk op hun retour noemen.

Over de Italiaanse teams kan ik - hoe kan het ook anders - niks zinnigs zeggen.

Reeds in eerdere berichten was te lezen dat McLaren eind jan '07 schuldenvrij zou zijn. Ook dat schijnt te kloppen volgens het bericht. The Paragon bleek toch iets duurder dan begroot

Erg zinnige opmerking (NOT). Dus alles wat geen Honda is moet maar verdwijnen? Dat worden saaie races, met alleen die 2 Honda's.
