Ze hadden Fiagt en sommige LMS-races aangekondigd. Op de site in kwestie werd echter met geen woord gerept over het Fiagt seizoen, er stond enkel: 'Reiter aan de start in sommige LMS-manches'...

Het hing al een tijdje in de lucht: Charouz zal een Lola B08/60 (coupe) met Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 V12 inzetten in LMS en Le Mans. Piloten = Enge, Charouz, en Mucke.

Het project krijgt steun van Aston Martin Racing

Ik denk dat de motor niet noodzakelijk meer vermogen zal produceren dan de niet-gehomologeerde LMP1 motor. Door van een productiemotor te vertrekken zijn er een aantal beperkingen.

De Aston Martin V12 is ook zwaarder en langer dan Judd GV5.5. De motor heeft een hoger zwaartepunt (60 graden V), wat een redelijk nadeel is omdat het om een coupe gaat. Daarom heeft Peugeot voor ongewone 108 graden V gekozen.

Hopelijk komt die ooit uit op 1/43!

Ik hoop dat de AM motor competatief is, dit overtuigd Corvette en Ferrari/Maserati misschien ook tot het leveren van LMP1 motoren.

Hopelijk pikken ze ook nog 1 of meerdere races mee in ALMS/LMS/FIA GT (Sebring? Silverstone?) ...

Zo, mooi dagje voor Aston Martin, in meerdere zinnen van het woord.
Een coupe met een benzine V12... laat maar komen! Straks kun je de Audi's en Peugeots helemaal niet meer horen

Knap nieuws van Aston Martin, niet alleen in LMP1, maar die magnifieke Gulf kleuren... ik heb alvast een nieuw bureaublad ingesteld!!!
