Belgische race Volvo S60's naar Duitsland!
Nu kom ik al jaren in Spa en altijd zag ik een "Opel gesponsorde aanhangwagen" staan als ik vanaf de afrit van de autoweg richting La Source reed. Nooit enig idee gehad wat dat nu precies was.

Blijken die Volvo's uit de Veedol Langstrecken Pokal in België gebouwd te worden door het team van Mühlner Motorsport

Grote plannen hebben ze daar voor 2004, 2 maal een S60 voor de sprints in de Langstrecken Pokal (toch nog altijd tussen de 3 en 6 uur) en een aparte S60 voor de 24 uur van de Nordschleife.

Tevens willen ze twee Porsche 911 GT3 Cups inzetten tijdens de 24 uur van Spa..............

Toch gek dat een dergelijk team meer in Duitsland rijdt dan in Belgie..........maar ja, als Duits Volvo Dealerteam kunnen ze weinig anders denk ik

Muhlner Motorsport is van oorsprong een duits team dat om verschillende redenen uit Duitsland is moeten verdwijnen en heeft zich al geruime tijd in Belgie gevestigd.
Zij deden vroeger ook nog mee in het europees kampioenschap Groep N.
Al hun klanten zijn bijna uitsluitend Duitsers dus daarom rijden ze daar ook bijna uitsluitend.

Heb de RPN 2002 gereden met een Opel Astra OPC afkomstig van Muhlner Motorsport.... zaaaaaaalig.
Voor hij begonnen is met die Volvo's (in 2002 dacht ik), was hij gespecialiseerd in Opel...

Ach, hij heeft er maar 12 jaar ervaring in Opeltjes

Voor je je begint af te vragen wie er in het andere gebouw zijn plaatsje heeft, daar zit LDT.

Die Duitsers zitten niet stil in Spa, vandaag is officieel bekend geworden dat ze bezig zijn met de bouw van de Volvo S40 "new look" volgens het Super 2000 reglement.

Toch wel een apart project..........die zullen toch weleens komen testen op Zolder?

Het Duitse Prosports Racing heeft destijds het Volvo S60 project voortgezet in de Langstrecken Pokal. Daar gaan ze in 2006 mee verder................het leuke is dat ze de S40 wagens van Mulhner hebben overgenomen. Helaas gaan ze ze niet verder opbouwen als S2000 wagen......maar als je de onderstaande "photoshop" impressie ziet vind ik dat helemaal niet erg. Miljaar wat een kist, meer van dat!

Ziet er bruut uit. Het uiterlijk doet me denken aan de toerwagens waar mee ze in het Argentijnse TC2000 kampioenschap rijden.

Wordt de motor uit de S60 in deze S40 overgeheveld?
